Project realized to face the critical issues encountered by manufacturing companies in Alta Valdelsa, in the province of Siena, relating to the growth of disposal costs and difficulties in collecting the waste produced.

To meet this need, it has been analysed the specific situation of local companies to trace the waste management chains, to identify the main plant deficiencies in the area, and to quantify the output economic value from the territory.

According to the most problematic aspects related to the management of certain types of waste, the impact they can have on the production chains, and their potential economic value, we have developed some project proposals that can promote waste recycling, reduction of disposal costs for companies and development of the local production system with modern circular economy values.

This study has been carried out through the contribution of the MPS Foundation, which for its review and validation has been supported by the Interdepartmental Center for Industrial Research - Renewable Sources, Environment, Sea and Energy of the University of Bologna (CIRI FRAME).
